Sunflowers have been cultivated as an edible plant in Europe since the 17th century and are rich in folic acid, vitamins E and B, as well as biotin Verjus is the juice of unripe green grapes. Hippocrates prescribed verjus for digestive problems as early as 400 BC. In recent decades, due to a lack of interest in verjus, the excess green grapes were simply left lying around as fertilizer.
