Gommer Roggenhörnli
Our Hörnli pasta is made from genuine Goms rye flour. This ancient grain has a particularly high content of valuable vitamins, fibre and minerals. It is particularly resistant to fluctuations in temperature and humidity and was once the most important bread grain in the Alpine region. With the industrialisation of agriculture, rye was largely replaced by refined and high-yielding wheat varieties. It is only with greater awareness of healthy nutrition and biodiversity that this forgotten grain has experienced a rebirth in recent years. Increasingly, golden fields of rye can now be seen shining again in Goms up to 1,500 metres above sea level.
