In two days, we will visit two nature parks, cross two passes and immerse ourselves in two different cultures and language regions. You can expect magnificent flora, exciting rocks, varied landscapes and warm hosts.
Day 1: To shorten the long ascent to the Albrun Pass, we take the Alpine bus from Binn to Brunnebiel. From there we hike along a side route towards the pass. The mule track is still clearly recognisable in places. Once we reach the top, we cross the border and enter Italian territory. The wild landscape soon opens up and becomes gentler: with the deep blue Lago di Devero and sparse larch forests, the area is reminiscent of the Engadin. The panoramic descent and the path along the water are a real treat. We spend the evening and night in the pretty Alpine village of Crampiolo.
Day 2: The next morning we tackle the second stage of the tour: an easy warm-up in the larch forest, then a steep, strenuous ascent, followed by a scramble through a labyrinth of boulders - this is our route to the Geisspfad Pass. A smugglers' route that was once used extensively. Our reward: we learn about the mysterious snake rock, stop at a real sandy beach and discover a mineral that looks like a plant. A long but very varied descent finally leads us back to Binn.
