Press release — Bus alpin Binntal has commenced summer operations

Bus alpin provides access to destinations that would otherwise be inaccessible by public transport. On Saturday 13 June 2026, the Bus alpin Binntal resumed its summer service. There is now also an afternoon service from Brunnenbiel to Fäld.

For many years, the Bus alpin Binntal has been an ideal complement to public transport. Whilst the PostBus normally terminates in Binn, thanks to the commitment of the Binntal Landscape Park, there will once again be several daily bus services from Binn to Fäld and back from 14 June to 18 October 2026.

In the morning, a minibus continues on to Brunnebiel in the upper Binntal. The Bus alpin’s terminus is an ideal starting point for hikes, for example to Lake Halsesee, Gandhorn, the Albrun Pass or the Binntal and Mittlenberg huts. At weekends, there are two morning services to Brunnebiel; from 1 July to 16 August, there are even three. A new service will run from Brunnebiel back to Fäld (with a connection to Binn) at 3 pm. This is in response to demand from day trippers.

Booking essential

We are delighted that demand for the Bus alpin in the Binntal nature Park is high. Last year, more than 16,000 visitors used the service – more than ever before. However, this also means that a booking is absolutely essential so that the necessary vehicles can be made available. All journeys to Brunnebiel must be booked by 5 pm the day before by calling 027 971 25 25.

Bus alpin operates in 18 regions

The Binntal Landscape Park’s bus service from Binn to Fäld and Brunnebiel is operated under the umbrella of the national Bus alpin association and is also supported by the Canton of Valais. In addition to the Binntal, 17 other mountain regions are part of the national network. Timetables and information are available at www.busalpin.ch.

Bus alpin provides public transport services in Swiss mountain regions to promote nature-based tourism. This boosts the local economy in the regions concerned and protects the environment by enabling visitors to travel more sustainably. Member regions receive support with setting up operations, marketing and financing the public transport services. In total, over 100,000 passengers are transported each year in the Bus alpin regions.
