Ernen - Eggerhorn - Binn

Hiking trail

Covered with snow
Both the Eggerhorn (2,503 m) and the Breithorn above Grengiols offer some of the most magnificent views in the Binntal Landscape Park.

The ascent through the Ernerwald forest to Alpe Frid is relatively gentle before the path becomes more challenging. The narrow trail then becomes steep with some large steps over the last few hundred metres as you climb up to the summit cross. After all that hard work, you’ll enjoy the fantastic panorama even more!

Ernen village square

The showpiece of Ernen is the village square (Dorfplatz), around which numerous historic buildings are grouped, e.g. the St. Georg tavern (1535), the "Tellenhaus" (1576) with the oldest Tell frescos in Switzerland or the "Zendenrathaus" (dated 1750).
