Rock trail Fäld

Theme-Trail

At eleven stages, the rocks of the Binn Valley , which characterise the landscape of the Binn Valley, are presented. You can make your own observations, listen into the stone at the sound hole, play melodies on the lithophone and much more.

Along the little road from the Restaurant Imfeld to the mineral mine you can get an insight into the most important rocks of the Binntal. The route is 1.25 km long and rises 150 metres in altitude. The pure walking time is about 30 minutes. Eleven information boards introduce you to the rocks of the valley. These form the landscape of the Binntal and are the foundation for the diverse minerals. You can make your own observations, listen into the stone at the sound hole, play melodies on the lithophone and admire the rocks from very close at the magnifying glass station.
The explanatory boards are aimed at laymen and largely do without technical terms (also suitable for children). The expert finds further facts in informative short texts. On a simple geological map you can see where the rocks occur in the valley, and on photos the rocks are shown in the landscape of the Binntal.

More informations

At the end of the trail children can search for golden yellow pyrite (cat gold) on the "Klopfplatz" in front of the mineral quarry Lengenbach.
