Nocino-Johannis nut liqueur
Nocino is a dark brown nut liqueur from Italy and Ticino, which is drunk as a digestif. The unripe nuts are macerated in grappa and refined with spices. Walnuts are traditionally picked on St. John's Eve (June 23/24). They are thus associated with the cults of the solstice, in particular the witches' sabbath, which was performed under the walnut tree in Italy.
