Marigold and pumpkin soup
Pumpkin and marigolds - both have thrived in Valais gardens for centuries. The whole thing is spiced up with a hint of oriental spices, just as our ancestors did. The pumpkin from the berry family is one of the oldest and most versatile cultivated plants. Originally native to South America and Africa, it came to Europe early on and was cultivated. Charlemagne had bottle gourds, also known as "calabashes", cultivated in the imperial crown estates as early as the 9th century.
