Miles and miles of cross-country skiing
There is a four-kilometre-long trail for classic cross-country skiing between Ernen and Mühlebach. The trail is prepared when the snow is about 40 cm deep and can be used free of charge. The current state of the trail is given in the winter sport report.
The 2km long cross-country trail in the Holewäg begins in Grengiols. With 3 different loops, you can skate or classic cross-country ski here in the direction of Bädel.
The upper Goms valley is a paradise for cross-country skiers, with a 100 km trail for skate skiing and classic technique. The trail runs to all of the twelve villages from Niederwald to Oberwald in the upper Goms, and is accessible from each. There is also a station for the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway in each village. The ski trail ticket includes the cost of the train between Fiesch and Oberwald.
When there is plenty of snow, the cross-country already starts in November and lasts until April.
