Hiking Trails

The Binntal Nature Park has an attractive network of walking, hiking and mountain trails. The hiking trail network consists of the entirety of interconnected hiking, mountain and alpine trails.The network of hiking trails consists of the totality of interconnected hiking, mountain and alpine trails. In our area there are 3 different gradations of difficulty. These are signalized in different colors.

Hiking trails are usually intended for people on foot and easily accessible to everyone. There are no specific requirements for walking on these trails. The signalization is yellow.

Mountain hiking trails may cross difficult terrain. They are mostly steep and narrow and partly exposed. The signposts are yellow with a white-red-white tip, confirmations and markings are white-red-white.

Alpine hiking trails are demanding mountain trails. They lead partly through pathless terrain, over snowfields and glaciers, over scree slopes or through rock with short climbing sections. For these trails you need good equipment and very good surefootedness. The signposting is blue with a white-blue-white tip, confirmations and markings are white-blue-white

Roman path: Binn-Grengiols

The hiking trail starts in the minerals village of Binn and continues along the historical path through the wild romantic Twingischlucht gorge to the «auf dem Blatt» chapel. It then goes further past the picturesque hamlet of Hockmatta to Bächerhisch

To gallows and to Mühlebach

This short walk takes you from the old part of the village of Ernen, past giant maple trees towards the "gallows", up to the ridge of the hill, Moosjihügel, and further on to Mühlebach.

The Trusera irrigation channel draws its water from the Milibach stream in the Rappental valley and brings it through the Erner Forest to the properties in the Binnachra, approximately 5 km away.

Tulip orbit, Grengiols

On a few fields in Grengiols there is a wild tulip species, which does not grow anywhere else. Every year during the second half of May the village attracts many visitors who come to admire this special tulip.

The Via Albrun is a historical hiking trail that connects the Binntal Landscape Park with the Italian Parco Naturale Veglia-Devero. The highest point at 2409 m is the Albrun Pass.
